Short Course - Brixham

Course Description

A simple and fun course making a silk cushion. The twist is that it is made of thin strips of real silk fabric made from saris. I have a huge basket, so you can choose your own design - a single colour or go wild, it's up to you. You'll cut lengths of your silk and applique them onto a piece of lining fabric with a fancy stitch. We'll then all pop downstairs to the Brixham Sewing Box, just a few doors down the high street, and pick out a fat quarter of your choice to be the backside of your cushion (whilst showing off the front to anyone who happens to be passing!) You'll finish off the cushion case, then pop a cushion inner inside, ending up with a beautiful, elegant and very professional looking cushion. Experience Level Beginner – You have some very basic sewing skills, and have used a sewing machine before Materials You won't need to provide any materials for this course! I will provide (included in the course fee) - Sari silk strips - Cushion inner - Your choice of backing fabric (we'll pop down to the Brixham Sewing Box shop where you can choose your own fat quarter included in the price) - All threads, trial scraps etc
